3. Eligibility Criteria & Age Limit
Eligibility is meticulously evaluated based on the applicant's parent cadre status, years of regular service, and educational credentials.
Age Limit Constraints
- The maximum age limit for appointment on deputation shall be 56 years as on the closing date of the online application (26 June 2026).
Joint Director (Group A / Level-12)
- Service Requirement: Holding an analogous post on a regular basis, OR possessing 5 years of regular service in Pay Level-11.
- Educational Requirement: Bachelor's Degree (MBA desirable), OR a Law Degree, OR a Master's/B.Tech/BE in Food Technology, Dairy Technology, Biotechnology, Toxicology, Public Health, Life Sciences, etc., OR a Doctorate with published research work.
Manager (IT) (Group A / Level-11)
- Service Requirement: Holding an analogous post on a regular basis, OR possessing 3 years of regular service in Pay Level-7 or equivalent.
- Educational Requirement: B.Tech/M.Tech in Computer Science or a related Engineering discipline, OR an MCA, OR a Bachelor's Degree in a highly relevant field.
Junior Assistant Grade-II (Group C / Level-02)
- Service Requirement: Holding an analogous post on a regular basis, OR possessing 3 years of regular service in Pay Level-1 or equivalent, with experience in handling diary/dispatch and computer typing.
- Educational Requirement: 12th Standard (or equivalent) passed from a recognized Board or University.
Important Restriction: Departmental officers in the feeder cadre category who are in the direct line of promotion are strictly NOT eligible for consideration for appointment on deputation to these posts.
4. Tenure & Nature of Deputation
- Duration: Appointments on deputation/Foreign Service Terms will be for a period not exceeding 1, 2, or 3 years (depending on the post) in the first instance.
- Extension: The tenure may be extended subject to the availability of vacancies, performance appraisals, and GoI guidelines.
- Governance: Terms of deputation, including pay scale allocations, will be strictly governed by DoPT Office Memorandum No. 6/8/2009-Estt. (Pay II) dated 17th June 2010.

- Online Portal Submission: Eligible candidates must apply online through the "jobs@fssai (careers)" tab on www.fssai.gov.in. The portal is open from 06.06.2026 to 26.06.2026. Applications not submitted via the portal will be rejected.
