1. Important Dates & Deadlines

Candidates must ensure their physical application dossiers reach the GREF Centre before the respective closing dates.

2. Category-Wise Vacancy Distribution

The recruitment encompasses a total of 899 vacancies. Reservations are applicable for UR, SC, ST, OBC, EWS, Ex-Servicemen (ESM), and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD).

Note: PwBD vacancies are identified specifically for Draughtsman (03 posts) and Store Keeper Technical (12 posts).

3. Age Limit & Essential Qualifications

Age Limit (As on 01 June 2026)

The required age limit for all trades (Draughtsman, Hindi Typist, SKT, Operator Communication, OEM, Electrician) is between 18 to 27 years. The candidate should be born between 01 Jun 1999 and 01 Jun 2008 for the UR category.

• Age Relaxations: SC/ST candidates get a 5-year relaxation, and OBC candidates receive a 3-year relaxation. Ex-Servicemen, Ex-Agniveers, and PwBD candidates (10 years) receive concessions as per Central Government norms.

Educational Qualifications

• Draughtsman: 10+2 with Science subjects AND a two-year Certificate in Architecture/Draughtsmanship OR a two-year National Trade Certificate for Draughtsman (Civil) with one year of practical experience.
• Hindi Typist: 10+2 from a recognized Board with a typing speed of 30 words per minute in Hindi on a computer (9000 KDPH).
• Store Keeper Technical (SKT): 10+2 from a recognized Board with store-keeping knowledge relating to vehicles or engineering equipment.
• Operator Communication: Matriculation (10th) AND possessing a Wireless Operator or Radio Mechanic Certificate from ITI or equivalent.
• OEM (Ordinary Grade): Matriculation (10th) AND possessing a heavy motor vehicle driving license or driving license for Dozer/Excavator with six months of experience.
• Electrician: Matriculation (10th) AND possessing an Auto Electrician certificate from ITI or equivalent with one year of experience as an Electrician.

4. Application Fee Parameters

Candidates must pay the application fee directly through the SBI Collect online URL link in favor of Commandant, GREF Centre, Pune.

• General, EWS, OBC, Ex-Servicemen, and Ex-Agniveers: Rs. 50/-
• SC, ST, and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD): NIL (Exempted)
• The payment e-receipt copy must be attached to the physical application form.

5. Multi-Stage Selection Methodology

Candidates will be shortlisted for subsequent stages based solely on the merit of the written examination.

1. Written Examination: An OMR-based or subjective bilingual (English/Hindi) exam. The minimum passing mark is 50% for UR, EWS, and OBC, and 40% for SC and ST categories.
2. Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Candidates must complete a 1 mile (1.6 km) run in 10 minutes. This is qualifying in nature. (PwBD, ESM, and Ex-Agniveers are exempted).
3. Trade Test (TT): A practical skill test where a minimum of 40% marks is required to qualify.
4. Primary Medical Examination (PME) & Document Verification (DV): Medical fitness evaluation as per BRO standards and scrutiny of original certificates at GREF Centre, Pune.
5. Final Selection: The final merit list is derived strictly from the marks scored in the written examination, provided the candidate qualifies the PET, TT, and PME.

Weightage Bonus: Additional percentage points (up to 15%) are added to educational marks for shortlisting purposes (call letters) for wards of GREF personnel, NCC 'C'/'B' certificate holders, and outstanding sportsmen.

6. Step-by-Step Offline Application Guide

Applications must be submitted in the prescribed format through the POSTAL SERVICE only. Incomplete applications or those without proper signatures and thumb impressions will be summarily rejected.

1. Download Format: Obtain the official application form and Admit Card layout from the BRO website. Print the application form on good quality A4 size bond paper (75 GSM) on one side only. Print the Admit Card on both sides of a single paper.
2. Fill Details: Fill the form in English or Hindi only. Affix a recent passport-size color photograph (not older than 3 months) at the designated places. Ensure you sign and put your left-hand thumb impression where required.
3. Attach Documents: Enclose self-attested copies of educational qualifications, technical certificates, driving licenses, caste certificates (Central Govt format), EWS certificates, experience certificates, domicile certificates, and the SBI Collect fee payment e-receipt.
4. Envelope Superscription: Clearly write on the top of the envelope: "APPLICATION FOR (NAME OF TRADE/POST) Under Category (UR/SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwBD/ESM/CPL)".
5. Dispatch: Send the complete dossier via Postal Service to reach:
