3. Qualification, Experience & Age Limit

Only current AIESL serving employees who meet the strict DGCA criteria as of 1st May 2026 are eligible to apply.

A. Educational & Licensing Qualifications

  • Candidates must have passed all B1 or B2 Modules of DGCA knowledge examinations.
  • OR Hold a B1 DGCA License or B2 DGCA License within AIESL capability.
  • Preference will be given to candidates holding an RT License.

B. Experience Requirement

  • A minimum aviation experience of 05 years (current practical maintenance experience on operating aircraft as prescribed under CAR 66).
  • Out of these 5 years, at least 2 years must be in the services of AIESL.

C. Age Limit & Reservations

  • The upper age limit is 52 Years as on 01st May 2026.
  • Age relaxations and reservations for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/Ex-servicemen will be applicable as per Government guidelines.

4. Selection Procedure & Salary Protection

  • Committee Assessment: A constituted committee will assess the eligibility criteria to select suitable candidates.
  • Salary Protection: Selected candidates will be designated as Trainee-AME. Their existing pay will be strictly protected during the training period.
  • Current Duties: Candidates will continue to perform their existing duties in their present cadre until they acquire the DGCA License (or equivalent) and are officially absorbed.
  • Reversion Policy: If a candidate fails to acquire the requisite qualification within 4 years of joining as Trainee AME and being offered a type course, they will be reverted to their previous position, and the Bond Amount will be fully recovered.

5. Training Period & Indemnity Bonds

B. Bond Amount & Strict Enforcement

  • Indemnity Bond: Selected candidates must execute an indemnity bond of Rs. 5,00,000/- (Rupees Five Lakhs only).
  • Service Requirement: The bond commits the employee to serve the Company for a minimum period of 05 years from the date of joining or until superannuation/retirement, whichever is earlier.
  • No Pro-Rata Relaxation: The bond is strictly enforceable for the entire 5-year period. No partial waiver or proportional deduction will be allowed for premature resignation.
  • Additional Bond: Trainees nominated for Type Training must execute a separate Type Training Bond prior to commencement, as per Company policy.

6. Placement & Career Progression

  • Posting: Trainees may be placed at any AIESL station during training. Post-license endorsement, they can be posted at any base based on company requirements.
  • Group Allocation: Allocation to Group A or Group B will only happen after all mandatory trainings are complete, depending on performance and vacancies.
  • Career Progression: Candidates will be placed in the appropriate grade upon acquiring the license. Their employment status (Permanent/FTE) and parent vertical (AIESL/ AIX/ AASL) will remain entirely unchanged.
