3. Eligibility Criteria (Age & Education)
Age Limit (As on 01.04.2026)
- Candidates must be not below 21 years and not above 30 years as on 01.04.2026.
- This means candidates must have been born not later than 01.04.2005 and not earlier than 02.04.1996.
- Age Relaxation: 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), 5 years for SC/ST, and up to 15 years for PwBD categories as per government rules.
Educational Qualification (As on 30.09.2026)
- Essential Requirement: Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification.
- Final Year Students: Those in the Final Year/Semester of their Graduation may also apply provisionally. However, if called for an interview, they must produce proof of having passed the graduation examination on or before 30.09.2026.
- Candidates with qualifications like Medical, Engineering, Chartered Accountant (CA), or Cost Accountant are also fully eligible.
4. Application Fee Details
The application fee is non-refundable and must be paid through online modes (Debit/Credit Card, Internet Banking, UPI) before the closing date. As per the official notification, the fee criteria is outlined below.

5. Selection Procedure & Exam Pattern
The SBI PO selection process is notoriously rigorous and consists of three distinct phases.
Phase-I: Preliminary Examination
An objective online test for 100 marks with a duration of 1 hour. It comprises English Language (30 Qs), Quantitative Aptitude (35 Qs), and Reasoning Ability (35 Qs). Note: A penalty of 1/4th mark applies for wrong answers.
Phase-II: Main Examination
Consists of Objective Tests for 200 marks (3 hours) covering Reasoning & Computer Aptitude, Data Analysis & Interpretation, General/Economy/Banking Awareness, and English Language. This is immediately followed by a Descriptive Paper (English Letter Writing & Essay) for 30 marks (30 minutes) typed on a computer.
Phase-III: Psychometric Test, Group Exercise & Interview
Shortlisted candidates will undergo a Psychometric Test for personality profiling, followed by a Group Exercise (20 marks) and Personal Interview (30 marks). The final merit list aggregates converted marks from Phase-II and Phase-III.
6. Salary & Career Path
- Basic Pay: Presently, the starting basic pay is ₹ 48,480/- (with 4 advance increments) in the Junior Management Grade Scale-I.
- Allowances: Officials are eligible for DA, HRA, CCA, PF, Contributory Pension Fund (NPS), LFC, Medical Facility, Lease rental facility, and other perquisites.
- Bond: Selected candidates must execute a Bond for a value of ₹ 2.00 Lacs to serve the Bank for a minimum period of three years.
