MAHATRANSCO maintains uncompromised educational and post-qualification experience requirements to secure its strategic electrical systems. Experience refers exclusively to post-qualification experience gained after acquiring the essential degree.

1. Chief Engineer (Transmission) - Post Code 1

• Educational Qualification: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering / Technology or its recognized equivalent from an approved University or Institute in India.
• Total Experience Requirement: A minimum of 15 years of total experience inside the Power Sector.
• Specific Domain Experience: Out of the total experience, at least 5 years must be in the area of Power Transmission in Selection Posts like Executive Engineer and above, which must include at least 1 year in the position of Superintending Engineer; OR the candidate must have completed a minimum of 3 years purely in the position of Superintending Engineer.

2. Superintending Engineer (Transmission) - Post Code 2

• Educational Qualification: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering / Technology or its recognized equivalent from an approved University or Institute in India.
• Total Experience Requirement: A minimum of 12 years of total experience inside the Power Sector.
• Specific Domain Experience: Out of the total timeline, at least 5 years must be in the area of Power Transmission as Executive Engineer & Additional Executive Engineer; OR the candidate must have completed a minimum of 2 years working in the rank of Executive Engineer.

Definition of Power Transmission Experience & Institutional Validation

To qualify for tracking eligibility, the notification strictly defines relevant transmission variables as follows:

• Experience must encompass the Operation & Maintenance of EHV/HVDC Substations and/or Lines, Construction of EHV/HVDC Lines/Substations, Design Engineering of EHV/HVDC Lines/Substations, Management of Load of EHV/HVDC Networks, or O&M of EHV Substations attached to Power Generation Plants.
• The term EHV explicitly means 66 kV and above voltage levels.
• Experience will only be validated if completed within central/state government power transmission utilities, a company with a paid-up capital of Rs. 100 Crores or more having power transmission business as its core activity, or a company possessing a valid Private Power Transmission License from the respective State Electricity Regulatory Commission.
• Experience certificates issued by private contractors, sub-contractors, or proprietors shall not be accepted.

4. Upper Age Boundaries & Relaxations

Age constraints are computed strictly as of the official closing date of application receipt (12 June 2026).

5. Pay Scale, Remuneration & Perks

Selected executive candidates receive high-tier core scales of pay alongside massive central allowances under company regulations.

Additional Perks: In addition to basic structures, selected executives are entitled to Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Medical Benefits, CPF, and Gratuity. Office quarters can be provided in lieu of HRA depending on availability. Hired/Company vehicles and telephone cost reimbursements are also supplied for official usage.
