3. Eligibility Criteria (Age & Experience)

No specific educational qualification is mandated; the eligibility is strictly based on the retirement rank and experience of the candidate as of the cut-off date (31.05.2026).

1. Defence Banking Advisor (Navy)

  • Maximum Age: 62 Years.
  • Required Experience: Retired from the rank of Vice Admiral / Rear Admiral from the Indian Navy.

2. Advisor (Central Armed Police Force)

  • Maximum Age: 62 Years.
  • Required Experience: Retired in the rank of Director General (DG) with a minimum of 3 years of experience in CAPF.

3. Circle Defence Banking Advisor (CDBA)

  • Maximum Age: 60 Years.
  • Required Experience: Retired from the rank of Major General or Brigadier.

Strict CIBIL Compliance: Candidates must maintain a highly satisfactory credit history. Those who have defaulted in repayment of loans or credit card dues, or have adverse CIBIL reports, will not be eligible for engagement unless the status is updated/regularized before the date of joining.

*Variable Pay is released by Circles based on a 95% & above score achieved in the OASIS appraisal report on a half-yearly basis. There are no other increments from the 2nd year.

Contract Period & Leave Terms

  • Initial Tenure: 2 Years.
  • Extension Rules: On completion of 2 years, renewal can be considered for a maximum of another 2 years, subject to a maximum age limit of 65 years. (For CDBA, maximum age for re-engagement should be less than or equal to 62 years; for others, 64 years).
  • Leave: Entitled to 30 days of leave during the financial year.
  • Termination: The contract can be terminated from either side by giving 30 days' notice or paying 1 month's compensation.

5. Selection Procedure & Merit Rules

The selection process does not involve a written exam. It is based entirely on shortlisting and an interview.

  • Shortlisting: Fulfilling minimum criteria does not guarantee an interview call. A Bank-constituted committee will decide the shortlisting parameters and call an adequate number of candidates for the interview.
  • Interview: The personal interview carries 100 marks. The qualifying marks will be decided by the Bank.
  • Merit List: The final merit list will be prepared in descending order based strictly on interview scores. If two candidates score equal marks, the older candidate will be ranked higher.
