1. Deputy Chief Chemist (CHEM-01)

• Education: Postgraduate Degree in Chemistry (min 2 years) with 60% marks. Must have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics at the graduation level.
• Mandatory Experience: Minimum 09 years of essential post-qualification relevant work experience as a Chemist (engaged in Drilling/Workover Operations) or Drilling Fluid Specialist. Candidates with Oil & Gas sector experience are preferred.

2. Deputy Chief Geologist (GEO-02)

• Education: Postgraduate Degree in Geology / Applied Geology (min 2 years) with 60% marks. Must have studied Mathematics at the graduation level.
• Mandatory Experience: Minimum 09 years of relevant work experience as a Geologist. Upstream Oil & Gas sector experience is preferred.

3. Deputy Chief Engineer (Reservoir) (RES-03)

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Petroleum Engineering (min 4 years) with 65% marks OR Master's Degree in Petroleum Engineering/Technology (min 2 years) with 60% marks along with a Bachelor's in Engineering.
• Mandatory Experience: Minimum 09 years of relevant work experience as a Reservoir Engineer.

4. Deputy Chief Geophysicist (GEOP-04)

• Education: Postgraduate Degree in Geophysics / Applied Geophysics / Exploration Geophysics (min 2 years) with 60% marks.
• Mandatory Experience: Minimum 09 years of relevant work experience as a Geophysicist.

5. Deputy Chief Engineer (S&E) (S&E: 05)

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Fire & Safety / Fire Engineering (min 4 years) with 65% marks OR Master's/Diploma in Industrial Safety/HSE (min 2 years) with 60% marks along with a Bachelor's in Engineering.
• Mandatory Experience: Minimum 09 years of relevant experience handling Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) matters.

6. Economist (ECO-06)

• Education: Postgraduate Degree in Economics or Business Economics with minimum 60% marks.
• Mandatory Experience: 09 years for Grade D; 13 years for Grade E; 17 years for Grade F. Experience must be in macroeconomic scenario analysis, sector-specific policy research, or economic modelling.

4. Upper Age Limits & Relaxations

Age criteria are calculated strictly as on the cut-off date (28/06/2026). The highest admissible limits mentioned below already account for the 2-year age relaxation provided to candidates possessing 2-year Postgraduate degrees/diplomas.

• Grade D Posts (CHEM-01, GEO-02, GEOP-04): Upper age limit is 39 years for UR.
• Grade D Post (RES-03): Upper age limit is 37/39 years for UR.
• Grade D Post (S&E: 05): UR: 37/39 years | OBC(NCL): 40/42 years | SC: 42/44 years.
• Economist (ECO-06): Grade D: 39 years | Grade E: 44 years | Grade F: 49 years.

5. Salary Structure & Emoluments

Oil India provides industry-leading compensation packages alongside Maharatna benefits.

• Grade D: Basic Pay Scale of ₹ 90,000 - ₹ 2,40,000/-. Approximate gross emoluments at the minimum of the scale will be around ₹ 1,70,000/- per month.
• Grade E / F: Basic Pay Scale of ₹ 1,00,000 - ₹ 2,60,000/-. Approximate gross emoluments at the minimum of the scale will be around ₹ 2,00,000/- per month.

6. Selection Methodology

The recruitment process established by OIL evaluates specialized operational expertise and fitness.

• Personal Interview (PI): Eligible candidates will be called exclusively for a Personal Interview. Selection is made solely on the basis of marks obtained in the PI, subject to document verification.
• Medical Fitness: Provisionally selected candidates must undergo a Pre-Employment Medical Examination (PEME) conducted by the Medical Board of OIL Hospital, Duliajan.
