State-Wise Vacancy Breakdown A total of 7150 training seats have been sanctioned across India. Candidates are strictly permitted to apply for engagement in only one state. Educational and Eligibility Criteria All eligibility criteria will be computed firmly as of the cut-off date: 01.04.2026. Candidates must verify their eligibility completely before registering. Educational Qualification: Candidates must possess a completed Graduation Degree from a recognized University or Institute as of 01.04.2026. Ineligibility Clause 1: Candidates who have previously undergone Apprenticeship training either in SBI or any other organization are entirely ineligible. Ineligibility Clause 2: Candidates possessing training or job experience for a period of 1 year or more after obtaining their educational qualifications cannot apply. Financial Standing (CIBIL): Candidates who have defaulted in repayment with any Bank/NBFC (including credit card dues) and have not regularized the same will be rejected. 4. Age Limit Constraints The age boundaries are calculated as of the cut-off date: 01/04/2026. Minimum Age: 20 Years. Maximum Age: 28 Years. (Candidates must have been born not later than 01.04.2006 and not earlier than 02.04.1998). Age Relaxations: The upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST candidates and by 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates. PwBD candidates are entitled to respective government-mandated relaxations. 5. Stipend and Training Duration The engagement is solely for training purposes under the Apprentices Act, 1961. The apprentices are not considered employees of the Bank. Duration: The On-the-Job training will last for a strict duration of exactly 1 year (12 months). Monthly Stipend: Apprentices will receive a consolidated stipend of Rs. 15,000/- per month during the engagement. Allowances: Apprentices are NOT eligible for any other allowances, housing, or benefits. Furthermore, this training guarantees no permanent employment in SBI after completion. Weightage in Future Recruitment: Apprentices successfully completing their training may be given weightage/relaxation in future recruitment for Junior Associates in SBI, subject to the Bank’s amended recruitment policies. 6. Application Fee Details Fees must be remitted strictly through the online payment gateway provided during the SBI application process. Fees are entirely non-refundable. Selection Process and Exam Pattern The selection procedure comprises an Online Written Test, a Local Language Test, and a final Medical Examination. A. Online Written Test (Objective) The test will feature 100 questions for 100 marks, with a total composite duration of 60 minutes. Questions (except English) will be bilingual and also available in 13 specified Regional Languages depending on the state. General / Financial Awareness: 25 Questions (15 minutes). Test of Local Language Candidates applying for a particular state must be proficient (reading, writing, speaking, and understanding) in the specified opted local language of that State. Candidates who produce 10th or 12th standard mark sheets verifying the study of the specified local language will be exempt from this test.
