This examination is exclusively organized for internal, regular Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) / Group ‘C’ employees working under specified Central Government Ministries and Departments. The recruitment aims to fill 149 Group ‘C’ Non-Gazetted vacancies (including reserved positions for SC, ST, and PwBD candidates). Eligible departmental candidates must first generate a One-Time Registration (OTR) on the new SSC portal (ssc.gov.in) and submit their online applications. Eligibility Criteria & Crucial Dates This is a Limited Departmental Competitive Examination (LDCE). Only regular internal employees of the participating cadres can apply. General Eligibility Conditions Service Requirement: Candidate must be a regular Group ‘C’ / Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) employee in Level-1 of the Pay Matrix (Rs. 18000-56900). Note: MTS on deputation to ex-cadre posts are also eligible if they retain their lien. Length of Service: Must have rendered a minimum of 3 years of regular service in the grade as on the crucial date prescribed by their respective cadre. Educational Qualification: Must have passed the 12th standard examination from a recognized Board or equivalent. Age Limit: Generally, the maximum age limit is 45 years (50 years for SC/ST) as on the crucial date of the respective cadre. Disabled Defence Personnel are eligible for an age relaxation of 3 years (Gen/OBC) and 8 years (SC/ST). Special Clause for Railway Board Secretariat Candidates Railway Board Secretariat candidates must pass a type-writing test (30 w.p.m in English or 25 w.p.m in Hindi on manual typewriter; OR 35 w.p.m in English or 30 w.p.m in Hindi on computer) within a period of one year from the date of appointment. 4. Selection Process & Exam Pattern The evaluation comprises two main parts: an Examination (Part-I) and an Evaluation of Service Records (Part-II). Part-I: Computer Based & Written Examination (200 Marks) Paper Subject Max. Language Mode: The candidate can attempt the examination in the language (English/Hindi) as opted in the application form. Candidates must qualify Paper-II to be eligible for the evaluation of Paper-I. Part-II: Evaluation of Record of Service (60 Marks) 60 marks are earmarked for the evaluation of the record of service (APARs). Only candidates who secure the aggregate qualifying marks in Part-I (Paper-I + Paper-II) will be considered for Part-II evaluation. Tie-Breaking Resolution If two or more candidates secure equal aggregate marks, ties will be resolved by applying: (1) Marks in Paper-I, (2) Marks in Part(a) of Paper-II, (3) Marks in Paper-II, (4) Date of birth (older candidates placed higher), and (5) Alphabetical order of names. 5. Step-by-Step Application Protocol Applying for this LDCE involves both online registration and offline forwarding of the application through the proper channel. One-Time Registration (OTR): Visit the new SSC website (ssc.gov.in). Create a new OTR using Aadhaar-Based Authentication. Old OTRs from ssc.nic.in are invalid and will not work.
